… A Season of Rest
Whew. I haven’t blogged in soo long! What happened to me? Quite honestly, I was exhausted. My third trimester of pregnancy just wore me out. Over 3 months of doing vendor events every single weekend while being pregnant did me in. I spent most of January in survival mode, resting and feeding children or supervising school. That was about all we did. I closed my Etsy shop and put everything else on hold. I want to say that it was wonderful, but I was too tired to even enjoy it!
Mollie was born towards the end of January. My labor was easy and delivery was great. I was induced per my request and the doctor’s recommendation, due to my previous issues with high blood pressure. Mollie was born with a true knot in her cord, but no major complications.
She is a good baby and a delight to our family! We never really have any issues with the children adjusting to a new baby because they are all so excited to have a new sibling. Our biggest problems have more to do with who gets to hold her next! (My favorite baby headbands are still the ones from Oh My Stars Handmade!)
Right after Mollie was born, my brother got married in Georgia. We usually take a family vacation in the south every spring, so it seemed most cost effective to do that all in one trip. We had a lovely 2 weeks in February visiting with friends and family between here and Georgia. After the wedding we rented a house in South Carolina and spend the week sightseeing and just having a great time as a family. (Picture below is taken at the Angel Oak tree near Charleston. )
After our trip, I took some time to get the house back in order. The weeks we spent in survival mode had taken their toll on the organizational health of our home. Lol! I was blessed to have my mom, sister in law, sister and a good friend who came over and helped me to paint and reorganize two rooms in our downstairs. The new setup has been such a blessing! I now have an actual sewing room and our dining room is much more functional.
My brother, Andrew, and his wife have moved back in to the area and we have enjoyed having them around again! My youngest sister announced her pregnancy and I had the privilege of planning their baby’s gender reveal party. Our children have been participating in some horse shows this spring. Lydia has a couple of piano events. We’ve been working hard at school to try to finish up so we can enjoy the summer. I think that covers most of the highlights.
I have been working on some future posts and plan to be updating regularly again here. I apologize for my long absence without explanation and I am looking forward to being around again!
