I’ve discovered two secrets to wearing skirts (mid or long length!) in the winter and loving it. Probably a lot of you learned these tips a while ago, but I was slow to jump on the bandwagon. They are:
1. Fleece lined tights!!! Mama told me about them last year. I knew she liked them. I have always hated tights as an adult. Maybe because when I was a little girl, I wore them a lot in either crazy, bright colors or bright white. (This was not out of fashion at the time, but looking back at the pictures when I got older didn’t make the best impression of them. LOL!I also remember having a hard time keeping them in the right place back then. That was before 7 children. Ha.) Anyway, about the fleece lined tights. I bought two pairs this fall and have been absolutely loving them! It feels like wearing your pajamas all day! They are surprisingly warm.
2. Boot socks! I love boot socks because they are both warm AND cute. (Not only that, but they cover up most of the tights that are visible between your skirt and boots. This makes me happy!)
So, yeah. Most of this outfit is from Maurices, one year or another. The skirt I bought forever ago at Northern Reflections. I don’t even know if they exist anymore. It was long, but I got tired of wearing it long and cut it off.
This past week I began my adventure as a consultant with Lilla Rose. (You can check out tons of cool hair ‘ jewelry ‘ and badge clips on my site at: www.lillarose.biz/skirtedblues .) After becoming a very devoted fan earlier on in the year, I’ve been Ruby Boquet bobby pins matched the outfit perfectly. I love that they stay in place all day and I don’t have to fuss with my hair, even after two little girls play with it for over an hour in church. 🙂
